What is the International Gas Union?
The International Gas Union, commonly known as IGU, is a nonprofit and authoritative international organization in the global gas industry. It was established in 1931 and registered in Vevey, Switzerland, with its secretariat located in Horsholm, Denmark. Currently, it represents the majority of gas producing and consuming regions worldwide, with the membership of gas industry associations from 67 countries. The main objectives of the IGU include promoting technological and economic advancements in the gas industry, supporting innovations across the gas supply chain, and facilitating communications among member countries and international organizations.
